Phiwokuhle Ncanywa obtained his LLB degree from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (now Nelson Mandela University) in 2016.
Upon completing his degree, Phiwokuhle worked at Nelson Mandela University as a Post Graduate Associate in 2017 within the Law Faculty's Mercantile Law Department and served on the Law Faculty Exclusions committee as a Post Graduate Representative, gaining experience in business entities, corporate procedures, and corporate law, as well as honing his research abilities.
He joined Joubert Galpin Searle in 2018 as a Candidate Attorney and completed his articles at the firm. Phiwokuhle was promoted to Associate within the firm's Commercial division in 2020 and later moved to the general division (still with a focus on commercial aspects). He is interested in public and private law (POPI Act), and is currently involved in related matters for clients.
In his free time, Phiwokuhle enjoys reading and debating new developments in constitutional case law. He also enjoys playing and watching sports and has lately taken a specific interest in cycling. He also enjoys competitive online sports gaming.
