MC grew up on a farm in Somerset East and went on to matriculate at Somerset East Gill College.
After graduating from the University of Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University) in 1984, MC returned to his town of birth to complete his articles.
He joined Joubert Galpin Searle Inc. in 1987 and became a Partner of the then partnership, in 1989.
MC practices commercial law and focuses primarily on liquor law, tax, franchising, construction law, financial structures, company takeovers & mergers; and the structuring of commercial transactions.
He has developed a special interest in Corporate Governance, Competition Law; and the law affecting electronic communications and transactions.
MC was appointed Managing Director of the Company in 1997.
He is a member of the PERCCI subcommittee on corporate governance and has presented a number of seminars on this subject.
MC is a keen sportsman and enjoys the wildlife, photography, scuba diving and reading.
