Joubert Galpin Searle has practiced law since the early 1920s where we were established as a legal partnership by Lance Leurant Joubert and Cecil Carter Galpin.
In 1928 Robert St Leger Searle joined the partnership, giving rise to the name Joubert Galpin & Searle, today we still have Michael St Leger Searle practicing as a consultant to our firm.
In 1951 The practice relocated to the NBS building at 30 Main Street, Port Elizabeth and after many years formed the first business division in 1951. Conveyancing was the first area of specialization, leading to a five further divisions over the next few years . The creation of these divisions has allowed us to focus on key sectors within commerce, industry, finance and insurance.
In 1990 Joubert Galpin Searle was incorporated and registered with the Registrar of Companies.
Our new headquarters, at 173 Cape Road Mill Park Port Elizabeth, was purpose built and has been our home since 1999.
Joubert Galpin Searle opened our first branch in 2014 servicing the Grahamstown area in the Eastern Cape. This was a strategic move as the high court holds jurisdiction for the entire Eastern Cape and therefore we can service many more of our clients from that office.
Today Drawing on over 80 years of experience, Joubert Galpin Searle is one of the most respected law firms in the Eastern Cape, serving a significant section of the province’s business community.
