Born on a farm in East London and educated at Cambridge High School, Rowan went on to attend Cedara Agricultural College. A graduate of the University of Port Elizabeth (now Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University), Rowan joined Joubert Galpin Searle in 1990 and was appointed Director in March 1995.
Heading up the Labour division, he has gained extensive experience and exposure to all areas of the industrial relations field. Rowan is fluent in Xhosa and has considerable experience in industrial disputes, appearing in the Labour Court, CCMA and private Arbitration hearings. Rowan regularly presents seminars on Labour Relations matters.
Rowan is married to Linda Kroon, niece of Judge Kroon and they have a daughter, Amber. A keen sportsman, Rowan plays league squash and enjoys trout fishing, scuba diving and mountain biking.
The family enjoys the outdoors and takes every opportunity to travel. This budding Chef and Linda are avid gardeners - their stress reliever.
